STRUGGLE IN NIGERIA’S UNIVERSITY: FROM THE FIGHT OVER CHICKEN TO THIS SORRY STATE

 

                                                                             

By the time you are through reading this story, you will either be thinking I am lying or that I am crazy. There is a University in Nigeria where the student sings the Africa most beautiful campus, it was actually not an exaggeration, that University used to be the most beautiful, there was a time Nigerian student fought because the government decided to slice their ration of a whole chicken to half, there was a time where the Universities in Nigeria used to rank the best in Africa, today all that have changed, changed because the beneficiary of that glorious past are now in government, and the institutions are now a cradle of foolishness.

Have you ever heard the slogan “the greatest Nigeria student?” That was a statement of fact, back when the nationalist use to rule this country, even down to Muritala’s military regime, Nigeria student were truly great, as a student in the first generation universities; ABU, UNILAG, UI, IFE, NSSUKA, you have feeding privilege, allowance, and certainty of Job after school. 

During the time I was talking about, a lecturer in Nigeria can hold his own against any other lecturer anywhere in the world, University faculty does not beg before the fund can come for minute research, there were world standard research everywhere. That is why the teaching hospital could carry out those sophisticated operations,  the Agricultural faculty could provide those hybrids of crops, that was the system that produced Wole Soyinka, Achebe, Chike Obi, But today teaching hospital cannot even diagnose successfully on their own, and hardly any lecturer with world recognition.

The sudden dive in Education started Under Obasanjo, where he conspired with Muhammed Ali to cut the chicken of Nigerian student into half, before then Nigeria’s student don’t pay, the government paid them, from that movement the successive government continually hauled attack on education, and the student usually match and protest, but by Babangida era, the government had so much hated the student that amour tanks were use against them. that was where ASUU inherited the struggle.

Ironically, those that benefited from the good education now rule this country, worst still when the president rose from the rank of ASUU. Nigeria government has always argued that there is no money, but there is enough money to feed their looting. Besides, Nigeria was poorer in 1960 than today, the oil that has always being our main income, continued to be determined by Dollars. So money pour in daily but the government decided to perpetuate this evil.

At the bottom of this crisis is privatization, many of this individuals that destroy education in Nigeria are proud owners of University, Obasanjo, Babangida and Atiku and they will no doubt be out of business if the government continue to run a better and cheaper University,  the best private University today cannot even match a government university after the long neglect, Just compare Covenant with UniLag.

Today you are wasting your time if you are an undergraduate and you are not learning a trade by the side, Miss Ibironke, a student of UniAbuja now learn jewelry making, she lamented, “this government does not even care about us, but they do about their kids, who either school abroad or in private university”. The truth is that many youths in Nigeria are frustrated, the fall from the fight over chicken to begging for school to open is just an aspect of Nigerian crisis, there are other like; unemployment, security, poor infrastructures and pension, that shows Nigeria might be heading for disintegration.

REASONS WHY BIANCA SHOULD DROP THE CASE AGAINST FEMI FANI KAYODE.

Turning in ever widening gear, the sexual dispute between Bianca Ojukwu and Femi Fani Kayode has become the case of a proverbial falcon that can no longer hear the falconer. As they both deploy canister of verbal explosive at each other while the case awaits hearing in court.

I slept with you! No you didn’t! I imagine this debate between two prominence Nigerian in a court, but I pity the judge whose burden it will be to serve as referee in the case. who is going to loose? Bianca of course, since she is suing, the case will be on Femi to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt, and reasonable doubt here might include the woman revealing her nakedness.

If Femi Fani Kayode can bring up a claim that he could remember a birth mark in a part of Bianca’s body which nobody except someone that has had intimate relation with her could have seen, that means she will have to strip to proof he is wrong, then it become a moral issue, whether the judge will allow this in open court, or in secret.

This whole case is naught, I’ve been wondering why Mrs Ojukwu Bianca wont let it pass, because Femi Fani Kayode is a jack, he could lie enough to resurrect a dead, just so the deceased will come back briefly to rid itself of such lies, then there was Kemi Olunloyo’s twist to the story, who claimed she knew about Femi and Bianca’s affairs.

Ever since Kemi Olunloyo’s first appearance in the dispute, she had been coming with mind bulging revelation, from the mere fact that the two gladiators belong to a gang of Nigerian love chain abroad, to the fact that Bianca was regnant at some point for Femi, but the last in her tirade was that Bianca was hiding something. According to an audio tape released by Kemi this morning, where she claimed Bianca was fighting this dirty battle all because of a clause in Ojukwu’s will that hand her all the wealth of the former war lord because she was a virgin.

The virgin Twist gave some credence to this whole saga, if it turns out she was not a virgin when she got married, then it it bye bye to her inheritance, and  since men are in the habit of making up affairs with women, and most time the women folks don’t pay attention to this, left one to wonder while Mrs Ojukwu will go to court, over this matter, and there was this Shama Malinga who came out discrediting Femi Fani kayode’s family, this later part stink of guilt on the part of Bianca, 

Fine Fani Kayode is what he is, most Nigerian knows the truth with the way he has be hunting for our attention, but not enough to warrant anybody going to court over anything he said. If President Jonathan is not suing him, and Yar a dua’s family are not, why Bianca, and if Bianca is not hiding something, why the attack on Femi’s family? since nobody had bother him for a while.

All this issues remains a speculation, But Bianca should reply Kemi Olunloyo, now that she had gone too far with her assault, then Bianca should drop this case for the sake of Ojukwu, she might win the case, but trust lawyers they will eat her for lunch, I am seeing a situation where the judge might need the Nigerian army to control journalist from entering the court premise, having to use women to do some body part search, this is definitely not good for an Ambassador, Ojukwu’s legacy and Igbo nation in Nigeria.

The Nigerian news stand was a regular host to the news of unfulfilled government promises, threatening security, lamentations over corruption until the news of the Arik stowaway violently upset the our peace. The news went viral with several speculations but not many have imagine the scenario if the child had landed in US as planned.

Just imagine a Nigerian plane was clear for landing in US, the immigration, the drug agent, and FBI went on red alert, from experience they knew the stuff to expect, combination of bad surprises, and as they were going about this business, a stowaway strolled from the tire carrier of the plane, trying to disappear into the country.

The revelation would not just have been about negligent of Arik, or the fault line in Nigeria air travelling, but an assault on the country as a whole, the reputation of the country would have dived deeper into abyss, the question will be, why will a child take such risk?

I have been saying it, Nigeria could be going crazy, but we should keep this innocent children out of this crazy business, the Nigerian child should have a chance to make their choice whether to follow in the path of the adult or to channel a different cause for itself.

However, the ruling class in Nigeria has lost touch with reality, handing down hardship to people without exception, the University student are not left out, nor an infant, so much that a boy of this tender age could feel the hardship enough to consider self exile.

No one will expect that good Samaritan exist in Nigeria, let alone give a helping hand, like people are doting over this wonder boy, are there not children of school age that wasted away everyday in our full glare, all this good people even patronize them as they hawk goods between the traffic.

We live in an insane country. where the Churches, the Mosques, the community has lost human feelings, where philanthropist are alien, and where government impoverish the people, while their accolades scoop away the rest of the spoit. God have mercy! Nigeria has no moral justification to condemn the Arik or the parent of this child, because this incident is the highest expression of the insanity in our land, where surplus people surfer in the midst of plenty.

RE:OHAKIM: THAT JESUS CANNOT SAVE NIGERIA IS SACRILEGIOUS

Nigeria has a lot of problem, there is no way you can talk about the country without certain problem popping up, So many people had fled the country over this, many more are toiling all day long to stay alive, despite all these, it is wrong of Ohakim Ikedi to have dragged the name of Jesus into the Nigerian problem.

Former Governor Ikedi Ohakim said “even Jesus cannot save Nigeria from running down the cliff”  he said this while trying to make some point previously at a book launch, He was not alone on this opinion anyway, there are lots from the band of bad leaders of the country who had similarly blaspheme the name of certain religious leader in the past.

Can Jesus save Nigeria? Yes he can, since Jesus came to save the whole world, and the Western industrial revolution of 17th & 18th century was premised on the doctrine of Christian religion. Nigeria does not even require Jesus to solve her problems, given the massive human and natural resources at her disposal.

However, the crop of bad leaders like Ohakim who has brought the nation to her knee by their blind corruption, what does it take to transform United State of America to a World power? personality like Washington, Thomas Edison, Carnegie, Wright Brothers, Henry Ford, In Russia was Lenin, In Saudi Arabia was the Saud, and in South Africa was Mandela, in all other places people and government has used their position and creative ability to better the country but not Nigeria.

In Nigeria every tiers of government made it their business to make life difficult for people, by looting and rigging the system in favor of their family and friend who perpetuate a regime of exploitation, in My country to get a job takes miracle, it is still a big celebration when someone build a house, you are a big man when you buy a used car,and many family cannot afford a descent living.

Ohakim was a Governor, then I asked him whether it was required of him to use his personal resources to develop the state, whether he was not provided with enough resources in term of allocations and tax to advance the cause of his people and humanity, did he do that? No, but he will rather hit the people with such hopeless outburst that Jesus cannot save the country.

Nigerian should not allow anybody to play on their intelligence, There is nothing wrong with the country, only that the country is bedeviled with bad leaders, very bad leaders, people should focus effort at ensuring change by using their vote, invention, creativity and revolution if they must. Though it is difficult for people to achieve much with the level of poverty in the country.

BIODUN FATOYINBO COZA: UNPAID PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

I got the hint about the accusation of adultery against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo from the facebook post of a devout Christian, you can begin to imagine the gravity of this allegation, and within minutes the news broke the social medias in Nigeria was flooded, with the print and electronic media cashing on it soon after.  

Beyond the cloud of the public agitation and excitement generated by the resent sexual scandal against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA was an unprecedented publicity and advertisement than the priest could ever finance, in a short while the name of COZA and her Pastor was all over the places, there was mad rush to complete a story about it.

If Biodun Fatoyinbo was guilty of the allegation is yet to be ascertained, but going by the tactical response the church is deploying, one might say there is an indication that something fishy went on behind the scene. The Pastor has the stuffs that pulled female to him, and he has a different out look on Christianity, you have to see his church to understand.

This accusation fits, without the second accuser that claimed a possession of certain damaging evidence. Besides, witnesses are popping up per day since the first accuser came public, all with damning proves, that if the Pastor is not guilty, it will only take God to rid him of the damage.

The big question is how many people actually knows Biodun Fatoyinbo or COZA before this incident, not half the people that write on media, facebook or twitted about it. COZA as at that incident existed in a corner in Abuja, Lagos and Ilorin a branch for a each city. COZA started at Ilorin in 2009, likely at the UNIlorin where Biodun Fatoyinbo graduated, but the worship centre was at the Stella Obasanjo hall along Offa garage Ilorin.

 Before the arrival of COZA, The Porters Porch assembly and The Rhema were the two dominant Churches at Ilorin, from that starting point the Church had branched out to Abuja and Lagos, much as the Church would have love to grow, the spread was limited, not until this incident though, when people who does not know the Church have to go out of their way to research over the hitherto unpopular Church, what if this a way God want to advertise for the ministry.

This scandal might mark the beginning of the end for pastor Biodun, but Nigeria have in no way hear the last from the Pastor, who has a history of winning against all odd, he successfully renounced occultism, daunting as such task seems to be, he might just duplicate that feat here, and if indeed he is guilty, he can renounce his dirty way like he did the occult practice.

The way most Christian are going about this left much to be desired. It simply means Biodun Fatoyinbo has made enough impact for fellow Christian to be jealous. I am by no means absorbing him of any wrong doing, but my stand over the matter is, it is either the Pastor is guilty or he is being persecute

While the Pastor enjoyed the full attention of Nigerian, I have this to say, that Any COZAite that leaves the Church over this does not worth the death of Jesus, because you are to serve God not man. My final question is simple, all around us, there is no big Church without a past, and COZA is an infant, you should think, don’t start comparing the Church with Winner’s or RCCG that went way back to the 70’s. This ministry is about five years old, do you honestly want to do this to a child.

ASSAD’S CHEMICAL HAZARD

    President Assad cruelty is unequaled in modern history, he has moved from, police operation when his people rejected him, to declared a total war on his country Syria, and  to worsen the whole situation he has found a new taste for the use of chemical weapon against civilian, women and children.

    No one could have suspected that Assad is capable of this level of wickedness, in those days when dictators regime held sway in Arab and most Muslim countries in which Syria was one. Saddam and Qaddafi top the list in war crimes and lack of respect for human right, but late event informed by the Arab spring had revealed the true nature of the Syria strong man. he is the most heartless the world had ever seen.

   The crisis was an extension of the Arab spring that sparked two years ago, and while Qaddafi, Mubarak and all other leaders had bowed out, Assad held on to power with impunity, shedding innocent blood, and defiling every effort at dialogue.

    Though there are claims that al Qaeda terrorist group had taking over the genuine demand of the people, but it was obvious that Syrian government was not willing to give room for the aspiration of the people, and all the al Qaeda story is just an excuse so Assad can continue in office indefinitely.

   Following the shocking revelation regarding the use of chemical weapon in this crisis, the UN, The United State of America and UK has risen with an unequivocal voice condemning the incident and threatening to take necessary action.

    USA lead by president Obama had threatened to go into a war with Syria if it has to, so as to bring this wickedness to justice, and since Obama had spoken, an America spy jet has been sighted hovering  over the Syrian air space.

   Assad has however counter that if Syria is attack it is going to defend itself, it is obvious that he is counting on Russian’s support, and the fact that the British Parliament will hesitate to give a nod to a war that will cost lots of money without a pay back.

   The matter remains that Assad has no honour guiding his cowardly act, while justice and fair play alien to his kind, the World cannot spend eternity considering the justification or otherwise of their action against him, the time to stop Assad is now.
